Old boards

In February 2006, three progressive students decided to form a new student faction. "There was no choice for students because there was only one faction," Kristian van Bockel, Christiaan Westgeest, and Didier Deurloo wanted to change that. They formulated seven objectives that led to the creation of Fractie Front:

  • Creating competition between student factions in the University Council

  • Bringing co-determination more to the attention of the student population

  • Assessment of faction performance by the student population

  • A better university debate

  • More initiatives directly for the benefit of students

  • Shifting the focus of the factions from the University Council to the shop floor

  • Internal efficiency gains for the factions

Besides a clear motivation, the members of the group also had a clear vision. This vision still resonates in all the actions of the Front Group!
