Tilburg University trekt elk jaar meer internationale studenten aan. In lijn met onze pijler Internationalisering moedigen wij deze ontwikkeling erg aan. Echter zijn niet alle faciliteiten voor internationale studenten op orde, met name wat betreft de huisvesting voor internationale studenten. Daarom is Fractie Front in nauw contact geweest met onder andere I*ESN Tilburg en the International Office om dit probleem op te lossen. Dankzij de opmerkingen van Fractie Front, staat de huisvesting weer op de agenda van de Universiteitsraad. De volgende acties zullen worden ondernomen:
a) Voor aankomst zullen internationale studenten beter geïnformeerd worden wat betreft het het vinden van een woonmogelijkheid op de vrije markt
b) Kamer Bemiddeling Tilburg is toegevoegd als ‘voorkeurs’ partner in de communicatie met studenten.
c) Er is een pilot gestard met Housing Anywhere om lege kamers van outgoing exchange studenten te matchen met incoming exchange students.
d) Een Housing Anywhere zal worden opgezet tussen de aankomst dag en 30 september 2016 om studenten actief te ondersteunen in het vinden van een kamer.
e) Het International Office zal kijken naar manieren om huisvestingsorganisaties/huisbazen/medestudenten aan te moedigen om kamers te verhuren aan internationale studenten.
f) Het International Office streeft naar een beter balans tussen exchange in het eerste en tweede semester.
g) Student Services/International Office zal de huisvestingsorganisaties informeren over de groeiende internationale instroom en met hen ook de lange termijn oplossingen bespreken.
Na de zomer zal er een structureel actieplan worden gepresenteerd.

Every year, Tilburg University attracts more international students. In line with Front’s pillar Internationalization, we support this trend. However, the facilities for international students are lacking, especially with regard to the housing accommodations of international students. Because of this, Student Party Front has been in close contact with, among others I*ESN Tilburg and the International Office to solve this problem. Due to the remarks of Student Party Front, housing of international students is on the agenda of this University Council again. The following actions will be taken:
a) Before arrival, international students are better informed about finding a housing accommodation on the free market. b) Kamer Bemiddeling Tilburg is added as ‘preferred’ partner in the communication to students. c) A pilot started with Housing Anywhere to match empty rooms of outgoing exchange students with incoming exchange students. d) A housing office will be set up between Arrival Day until 30 September 2016 to actively support students in finding a room. e) International Office will look into ways to encourage housing rental agencies/landlords/fellow-students to accommodate international students. f) International office will seek to realize a better balance between exchange in first and second semester. g) Student Services/International Office will inform the housing agencies about the growing international inflow and discuss solutions to the long term.
